We had a dream about going for Norway and the race at Gardemoen, but we was not able to take time from work to do that. So with a race just "around the corner" at Tullinge Raceway, there Nordic Pro Street Cup and the Top Fuel Tour took place, that came to be "plan B".
Arrived at the track Friday afternoon and set the pit up. When the two new teammembers, Jan and Micke turned up, we tried to fix the transbreake again…
No luck this time either, so a new race without the transbreake.
This race has different classes than Nordic Dragracing Series and it turned out that we should race in "Real Street"(!?" wich is a bracket class with a "choose your own dial in" for cars cabable of running between 13 and 9 seconds.
So it was back to full throttle again.
Saturday gave us two runs, 9,33 seconds and 9,32 seconds, so Linda decided the "dial in" to 9,30 seconds.
Sunday and first elimationround: Met with a blue Camaro who had a 11,00 sec.
dial in and had to leave 1,7 seconds headstart, (a bit nervous because a full tree instead of heads up start and no transbreake…)but she won!
Not a very good run, spinning the tires of the startline but a new personalbest topspeed of 234 Km/h (145,43 Miles/h) and an ET of 9,81 seconds against the Camaro´s 11,80.
Next round turned out to be a solorun, so we passed that one to…
In the upline for the next meeting it turned out that our opponent had broken and couldn´t repair, solo again! And we were in Semifinals!
Well...when your opponent reacts in 45 hundreds of a second and drives 5 thousand of a second close to his dial in, (10,62 dial and 10,625 over the line!),
you loose even if you don´t redlight…
Wich happend to Linda when she tried to rev up some starting RPM…
We have to congratulate Per-Anders Norrbom to a perfect run and to his win of the Real Street final.
